Russian forces shell tank filled with nitric acid in Rubizhne

Russian forces have shelled a tank with nitric acid, residents urgently need to close windows and doors and not leave the premises, Luhansk Regional Military Administration head Serhiy Haidai has said.

"In Rubizhne, the orcs hit a tank with nitric acid‼ Urgent‼ Do not leave the shelters! If you are indoors, close the doors and windows!" Haidai wrote on Facebook.

He emphasized that acid vapors irritate the respiratory tract. To protect against vapors and nitric acid mist, gas masks are used.

"Prepare protective face masks soaked in soda solution! When applied locally to the eyes, nitric acid causes severe damage, to the necrosis of the cornea and conjunctiva, leading to loss of vision," he said.

First aid: if nitric acid gets into your eyes, rinse them with running water for 10-30 minutes. In case of contact with the skin, wash the affected surface with water, adding baking soda and soap. If nitric acid is swallowed, drink plenty of water.

"Follow the direction of the wind! We are looking forward to rain, it will help! Keep in touch! Follow information alerts!" he said.
