Over 20 fires broke out in residential buildings, children's hospital in Luhansk region due to shelling by occupier over past day – Emergency Service

Over the past 24 hours, as a result of enemy shelling in Lugansk region, residential buildings and educational institutions were on fire, in Severodonetsk, the occupiers fired on a children's hospital, the State Emergency Service said.

"Luhansk region. Severodonetsk, Rubizhne, Lysychansk, Popasna, Novodruzhesk, Toshkivka once again suffer from shelling by the Russian army. Over the past day, as a result of shelling, more than two dozen fires have occurred in multi-storey and residential buildings, outbuildings, garages, and a general education institution were on fire and infrastructure facilities," the State Emergency Service said in a Telegram channel on Tuesday.

The service said that in Severodonetsk, Russian troops opened fire on a children's hospital, causing the roof to catch fire. "Our rescuers promptly evacuated seven small patients and 15 adults, eight of whom are doctors, to a safe place," the State Emergency Service said.

The service said also says that there are not enough rescuers in the State Emergency Service of Luhansk region to respond to all calls for fires or destruction as a result of shelling.

"Despite fatigue and enemy shelling, the rescuers continue to carry out their assigned tasks," the State Emergency Service said.
