The Starlink app, which allows smartphone users to access satellite Internet from Space-X, has become the most downloaded app in Ukraine, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov has said.

"The application was downloaded 21,000 times on Sunday, March 13, worldwide in both the App Store and Google Play. This is the largest number of downloads in the world in one day. Most of it was from Ukraine," he wrote on his Telegram channel on Thursday.

According to him, in Ukraine this application was downloaded almost 100,000 times. And the number of its installations in the world more than tripled over the past two weeks.

Fedorov noted that Starlink satellite Internet stations are already operating in Ukraine to support the proper functioning of critical infrastructure and services in healthcare, finance and energy.

Starlink is designed to provide broadband Internet access in places where access was unreliable or completely non-existent. Anywhere on the planet. And the application is needed to establish a connection with the satellite and to make the Internet work.
