Some 85 children killed, about 100 injured during Russian military aggression in Ukraine – PGO

Some 85 children were killed in Ukraine due to armed aggression of the Russian Federation, about a hundred were injured, the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine (PGO) reports.

"As a result of armed aggression of the Russian Federation, as of the morning of March 13, some 85 children have already died and about 100 have been wounded in Ukraine. Most of the victims were in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Sumy, Kherson, Mykolaiv and Zhytomyr regions," the PGO said on the Telegram channel.

The report notes that the shelling of the civilian population by the Russian military continues. So, on March 11, when trying to evacuate, the invaders shot at a civilian car, as a result of the shelling, a child died – young player of the football team Athlete Dmytro.

According to the Prosecutor General's Office, also on the evening of March 11, near Husarivka, Izyum district, Kharkiv region, at a checkpoint, the invaders shot at a car, as a result of which a woman and a child died.

"On March 12, a family with a three-year-old child was killed on a highway in the village of Husarivka, Balakliya district, Kharkiv region, due to the shelling of a private car," the report says.

The department informs that 369 educational institutions were damaged due to bombing and shelling, 57 of which were completely destroyed. Most of the destruction in Donetsk region – 119 educational institutions. In Mykolaiv region – 30, Sumy region – 28, Kyiv region – 28, Kherson region – 21, and in the Ukrainian capital – 17.

According to the Prosecutor General's Office, only on March 12, the invaders damaged 11 educational institutions in Mykolaiv region. In addition, 11 medical institutions and three rehabilitation centers, including those for children with disabilities, were shelled.

"These figures are not final due to the lack of a possibility to inspect the scenes of the incident, where the armed forces of the Russian Federation are conducting active hostilities and in the temporarily occupied territories," the report says.
