Ukrainian soldier killed in Donbas near Svitlodarsk, another one wounded

On the morning of Tuesday, February 23, Russian-occupation forces fired at the positions of the Joint Force Operation (JFO) in Svitodarsk, as a result of which one Ukrainian soldier was killed and another was wounded, the press service of the Ukrainian delegation at the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) said on Tuesday.

"Today, February 23, at about 07:00 in the direction of Svitlodarsk, as a result of enemy shelling of our positions, one was killed and another serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was wounded. The Ukrainian side of the JCCC sent a relevant note to the OSCE SMM," the delegation in the TCG said.

The JFO headquarters confirmed the information about the death of a Ukrainian soldier, specifying that Russian-occupation forces fired at the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from mortars and grenade launchers.

"The Russian-occupation forces fired at the Ukrainian positions with 82-caliber mortars and heavy anti-tank grenade launchers. As a result of the shelling, one soldier was killed, another soldier was wounded by shrapnel," the JFO headquarters said.

As reported, on Monday, February 22, in the JFO area in Donbas, a Ukrainian serviceman was also killed and another was wounded as a result of shelling from Russian-occupation forces.
