Zelensky says Poroshenko pushing for Maidan but he is not afraid
No blood will be spilled in case of mass protests which are being pushed by Fifth Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said during a press marathon in Kyiv on Thursday.
"He is opposed to disengagement [of forces in Donbas] and believes that this may lead to Maidan … He is somewhat pushing people with his media and his actions," Zelensky said.
Journalists asked whether Zelensky was ready for dialogue with people on Maidan and what his reaction might be.
"I speak with people, and I am ready to do so ... I fear nothing of that, any moment, any second the society feels it does not want my team to go on and me to be president, look, there will be no bloodshed, I feel very calm about that," he said.
"However, people must know what they choose. In that case, they will definitely not choose to end the war and will definitely choose from the 'menu' ... available on the corrupt political market," Zelensky said.
