NBU challenges court ban to First Deputy NBU Governor Rozhkova to fulfill duties

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) on June 14, 2019 filed a petition to the Baryshivka district court of Kyiv region to annul pre-award relief in the form of banning First Deputy Governor of the NBU Kateryna Rozhkova from participating in board meetings and carrying out her official duties issued on June 11, the NBU has reported on its website.

Earlier, the district administrative court of Kyiv received a lawsuit from people's deputy Yuriy Savchuk, demanding that Rozhkova be prohibited from executing the powers of the first deputy head of the NBU. In addition, last year, deputies of the Verkhovna Rada, Ihor Lutsenko and Oleksandr Dubinin, also tried to restrict Rozhkova in exercising official powers in court. However, on May 15, 2018, the Kyiv court of appeals confirmed the legitimacy of the performance of the official duties by her, and the Ternopil city district court of Ternopil region decided not to launch the proceedings.
