Two Ukrainian soldiers killed, 10 wounded in Donbas in past 24 hours

Russia's hybrid military forces mounted 23 attacks on Ukrainian army positions in Donbas as of 17:00 of Friday, with two Ukrainian soldiers reported as killed in action, and another 10 as wounded in action, the press centre of the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) has reported.

"On June 6, the armed forces of the Russian Federation violated the cease-fire regime 16 times, once with 120 mm mortar prohibited by the Minsk agreements. The enemy also shelled our defenders from the armament of infantry fighting vehicles, anti-tank missile systems, grenade launchers of various systems, large-caliber machine guns, automatic, small-arms and sniper weapons ... As a result of enemy attacks, two soldiers of the JFO were injured. The enemy received an adequate response for each attack. According to intelligence, one militant was killed on June 6," the JFO staff said in its update on Facebook on Friday morning.

Two more servicemen were injured near Mayorske, the JFO staff said on Facebook.

The JFO staff reported 23 ceasefire violations of the day.

Positions of the Vostok (Skhid) sector came under attack in the vicinity of Opytne, Vodiane, Chermalyk, Mayorske, Hnutove, Mariyinka, and Pavlopil, it said.

Positions of the Sever (Pivnich) sector came under four attacks near Novoluhanske, Travneve, and Zaitseve, the staff said.

The militants fired weapons prohibited by the Minsk Agreements, including 120mm mortars, it said.
