UkSATSE closes airspace within 30 km radius from scene of fire at arms depots in Ichnia

The Ukrainian State Air Traffic Services Enterprise (UkSATSE) has restricted flights within a radius of 30 kilometers from the scene of a fire at the depots of the sixth arsenal of the Defense Ministry near Ichnia (Chernihiv region), according to the Ukrainian Infrastructure Ministry.

"Due to the fire and explosions at the sixth arsenal of the Defense Ministry near the village of Druzhba (Ichnia district, Chernihiv region), UkSATSE, with a view to ensuring flight safety, imposed a ban on the use of the airspace within a radius of 30 kilometers," reads the statement.

In addition, traffic was closed to all types of vehicles on the roads P-68 Talalaivka-Ichnia-Trostianets-Sokyryntsi from Talalaivka towards Ichnia and from Parafiyivka towards Ichnia; on the road T-25-27 Novy Bykiv-Ichnia from the intersection with the road P-67 Chernihiv-Nizhyn-Pryluky-Pyriatyn towards Khayenky-Monastyrysche-Ichnia; on the road T-25-24 Borzna-Ichnia-Pryluky from Plysky towards Ichnia and from the H-07 road to Ichnia. Bypass routes were created.

In addition, Ukraine's state rail operator Ukrzaliznytsia prepared and provided fire trains to contain the fire at military warehouses. A passenger train is ready for the evacuation of the population from the place of emergency.

As reported, information about the explosions came from the head of the sixth arsenal at 03.30 on Tuesday. The operative group led by the chief of the General Staff is at the scene. Rescuers evacuated about 10,000 people. Flight restrictions within a radius of 20 kilometers from the scene were imposed from 04.22. Traffic on nearby roads was closed.
