Yanukovych's March 1, 2014 signed appeal to Putin in UNSC's official archive - Serheyev

Ex-Ukrainian Permanent UN Representative Yuriy Serheyev has said the original March 1, 2014 signed appeal from disgraced ex-Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych to Russian President Vladimir Putin requesting Russian troops be used to restore "law and order" in Ukraine is located in the official archive of the United Nations' Security Council (UNSC).

"The document Vitaly Churkin (ex-Russian Permanent UN Representative) received with Yanukovych's signature is in the official UNSC archive. When court cases began and Ukraine's prosecutors requested the document, I know they received it in the same form as it was conveyed to the UNSC," Serheyev said during the Gordon program aired by 112.Ukaine TV on Sunday evening.

Serheyev said, "This was not a letter, but an appeal," recalling that Churkin read it out loud at a meeting of the UNSC on March 3, 2014.
