Denisova learns about deterioration of Sentsov's health in phone talk with his lawyer

The Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Liudmyla Denisova has talked over phone with lawyer of the political prisoner in Russia Oleh Sentsov, Dmitry Dinze, who informed her of the significant deterioration in the health of his client.

"He survived the second breakdown in health, but Oleh cannot name the exact date or on what day after meeting with his sister it happened. After he felt sick, they wanted to hospitalize him to Labytnangi hospital and start comprehensive force-feeding, in order to give him more nutrient mixture. He gave no consent and they left him in prison on condition that he would take the mixture on his own under the supervision of a doctor. He takes two spoons a day," Denisova wrote on Facebook on Thursday evening.

Dinze also said that the Ukrainian film director doesn't know the dates and asks the lawyer what day it is today.

The Ukrainian ombudswoman noted that Sentsov also has a heart muscle weakened.

"Therefore, I appeal to the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Raad Al Hussein, Secretary General of the Council of Europe Thorbjorn Jagland, Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights Dunja Mijatovic about organizing the visit of their representatives to the colony where Oleh Sentsov is detained to verify this information," she stressed.

In addition, the Ukrainian ombudswoman called on international human rights institutions to appeal to President of the Russian Federation [Vladimir Putin] with a demand to urgently decide on the release of Sentsov and all the captives of the Kremlin.

As reported, lawyer of the Ukrainian political prisoner Oleh Sentsov, Dinze, visited his client in the Russian colony, after which he told that the Ukrainian looks bad, but walks alone and refuses to be forcibly feed.
