Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has expressed his confidence that the process of creating an Anti-Corruption Court will be completed in the first half of 2018, possibly in May.

"We are trying to speed up the process of the formation of the Anti-Corruption Court. I am convinced that we will succeed in the first half of the year, possibly in May, and then we will receive the next tranche [of the IMF]," Poroshenko said in an interview with the German newspaper Focus, which is quoted by the Ukrainian president's press service on Saturday.

The president said that along with the position about the need to further strengthen the fight against corruption in Ukraine, the International Monetary Fund noted the significant economic growth in the country and the implementation of reforms.

"I am proud that we managed to improve the investment climate. We've achieved more than was done over the past 25 years," Poroshenko said noting that this is not only the IMF assessment, but also that of the World Bank.

He recalled that in the Doing Business ranking, Ukraine climbed from 137th position in 2013 to 79th position. "The pace of economic growth this year is likely to grow by 3.5%." Show me another country that has managed to do so in the conditions of war, "the Ukrainian president also stressed.
