Georgian president, Ukrainian defense minister in Tbilisi discuss situation in Donbas

Ukrainian Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak and Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili has had a meeting in Tbilisi.

"Our countries have always been good partners and reliable friends. I am pleased that good relations have developed between the defense ministries of our countries. The entire Georgian people support Ukrainians and Ukraine," the press service of the Defense Ministry quotes Margvelashvili as saying.

In turn, Poltorak informed the Georgian president about the situation in the east of Ukraine in these days and also briefed about the course of reforms in the Defense Ministry.

"We are in a difficult way of reforming the department. The reform process is taking place at the time when firing and deaths continue in the east. The experience of reforms in the Georgian Defense Ministry is valuable for us. We are currently reforming the system of training sergeants, and Georgia has made a real educational breakthrough in this direction. We will obviously use this experience when developing the education system of Ukrainian servicemen," Poltorak said.
