Savchenko, Plotnitsky and Zakharchenko didn't participate in contact group meeting in Minsk on Dec 7

Ukrainian MP Nadia Savchenko and leaders of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics (DPR and LPR) Alexander Zakharchenko and Igor Plotnitsky did not take part in the meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group in Minsk on December 7, spokesperson for Ukraine's representative in the contact group, second President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma, Darka Olifer, has said.

"These persons did not participate in the work of the Tripartite Contact Group on December 7, and their participation was not expected," Olifer told Interfax-Ukraine on Monday.

A source reported earlier, leaders of the so-called LPR and DPR Plotnitsky and Zakharchenko came to Minsk on December 7. According to the source, at the airport they were met by representatives of the Russian Embassy in Belarus, put into a car with diplomatic number plates and taken away somewhere. Then Russian media reported that they arrived in Minsk.

On the morning of December 12, adviser to the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) chief Yuriy Tandit told 112.ua TV channel that Savchenko did not warn the SBU about her visit to Minsk.

Savchenko's political force Batkivschyna said they consider unacceptable any negotiations with the leaders of DPR and LPR and that Savchenko did not coordinate her actions with the Batkivschyna faction and party and recently announced her participation in a new political project.
