Appeal court lifts arrest from machinery, motor transport enterprise challenged by Mriya

Kyiv's appeal court has decided to lift arrest from machinery worth some $3 million and a motor transport enterprise in Khorostkiv (Ternopil region) challenged by Mriya agroholding.

Mriya said in a press release that under a criminal case opened over a fraud by the Huta family, buildings and facilities of the motor transport enterprise in Khorostkiv and 142 machinery units had been arrested by court.

"Kyiv's appeal court decided to lift the arrest from machinery worth some $3 million and the motor transport enterprise, allowing illegal seizures to freely remove the stolen property and resell it. We understand that if the machinery leaves the territory of Ukraine, it would be impossible to get it back," the company said.

The company said that over 40 machinery units were removed from the territory of the motor transport enterprise in the past several days.

"Local police are helping representatives of the Huta family, not interfering in what is going on. Moreover, when after ineffective appeals to the police Mriya's representatives tried to hinder the unlawful removal of goods, a security guard of the agroholding was beaten by the seizers," the company said.

The agroholding appeals to the top managers of the Interior Ministry of Ukraine and Prosecutor General's Office to pay attention to the situation around the seized motor transport enterprise, stop stealing the Mriya's assets by the Huta family and help the company and its foreign investors to protect its rights.

As reported, early July 2016 Mriya claimed an attempt of illegal seizure of its motor transport enterprise located in Khorostkiv and the former owners are suspected of doing this (the Huta family).
