Ukraine says LPR disrupting disengagement of forces in Stanytsia Luhanska

The Ukrainian side during a meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group on Donbas conflict settlement in the form of the video conference said the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic is disrupting the disengagement of forces near Stanytsia Luhanska and called on the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) to observe disengagement areas round the clock.

"The Ukrainian side has raised the issue of disruption of the framework decision on the disengagement of forces and hardware by the separate areas of Luhansk region (the so-called Luhansk People's Republic), in particular near Stanytsia Luhanska, as well as their non-compliance with the ceasefire regime and its obligations under the Minsk agreements by the separate areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions," the press secretary of the Ukrainian representative in the group, second president of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma Darka Olifer wrote after the video conference ended on Tuesday evening.

In addition, Kyiv insists that observers of the OSCE SMM should arrange for round-the-clock monitoring of the situation in the areas of disengagement of forces and hardware.

"We insist on constant monitoring in the areas of withdrawal of forces and means of the OSCE SMM observers," Olifer wrote.

Ukraine's representatives also demanded during the video conference the release of Ukrainian hostages held in Russia and territories outside Kyiv control.

"We have addressed the Russian side with a demand to release Ukrainian journalist Roman Suschenko," Kuchma's press secretary said.
