Kerry says U.S. still sees diplomatic solution to Donbas conflict

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry has reiterated the U.S. stance on the Ukrainian issue and the need for joint efforts with Russia to hammer out a solution to the Donbas conflict through diplomacy.

"We have imposed sanctions, and we're insisting on a diplomatic solution to the conflict in Donbas and the illegal annexation of Crimea," he said during his speech at the German Marshall Fund of the United States in Brussels on Tuesday.

The U.S. authorities stand for the observance of international law by all the parties concerned, he said.

"We remain steadfast in our support for a stable, united and democratic Ukraine," he said.
