Nuland met Poroshenko on Wednesday to discuss reforms agenda and implementation of Minsk peace deal

Victoria Nuland, the United States Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, and Senior Directors of Departments of the U.S. National Security Council, Charles Kupchan and Celeste Wallander, held meetings with the Ukrainian top-ranking officials to discuss the agenda of reforms and the Minsk agreements implementation in support of the 'Normandy format' on June 22.

As the U.S. Embassy to Ukraine reported, the American delegation held meetings with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada Chairman Andriy Parubiy, Ukrainian Presidential Administration's Deputy Head for Foreign Policy Issues Kostiantyn Yeliseyev and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin.

"The consultations were detailed and constructive, and focused heavily on the security requirements of Minsk in advance of the U.S. Delegation's onward travel to Moscow on June 23. The U.S. side welcomed Ukrainian leaders' strong commitment to full implementation of Minsk, and underscored that sanctions on Russia must stay in place in order to advance that goal," the embassy said.
