Police detains 57 people during March of Equality in Kyiv

Fifty-seven people were detained and taken to the city's district police stations during the March of Equality in Kyiv on June 12, Ukraine's National Police Chief Khatia Dekanoidze has said.

"Some 57 people were detained. They were taken to district police stations and questioned. Ten charge sheets on administrative violation were drawn up," Dekanoidze told a press briefing in Kyiv on June 12.

The chief of the National Police later added that some of the detained people had been released.

"The detained people were questioned and explanatory work was held with them. We drew up ten charge sheets on administrative violations... Some of them - yes [have been released] and we are still holding preventive discussions with the others," Dekanoidze said.
