U.S. hopes Groysman won't backtrack on judicial, law enforcement reform plans

U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Geoffrey Pyatt has said the United States hopes the new government-led by Volodymyr Groysman will continue reforms in the law enforcement system.

Speaking to journalists on Friday, he said that the U.S. government admires the steps being taken by Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman and his government and hopes they won't stop.

Pyatt stressed that reforming judicial procedures and the nation's law enforcement system are the government's most important tasks, because these were the goals of the Revolution of Dignity.

He said the establishment of the national police force is one example of successful reforms.

The ambassador said the U.S. is committed to support the Ukrainian government and prime minister in sustaining reform efforts.
