PGO sends indictment against former Party of Regions MP Oleh Tsariov to court

Ukraine's Prosecutor General's Office (PGO) has approved and sent to court the indictment in the criminal case against former Ukraine's MP Oleh Tsariov, liaison office of Ukraine's PGO said.

Tsarev was declared wanted. The PGO represents the public prosecution.

The criminal case against Tsariov was opened based on a special pre-trial investigation, which was completed by the Main Investigations Department of Ukraine's Security Service under Article 110, Part 2 and Article 109, Part 3 of Ukraine's Criminal Code (encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine; actions aimed at violent change and overthrow of the constitutional order).

"Tsariov is accused of participation in meetings of pro-Russian citizens of Ukraine in the period from April to May 2014, where he, in the capacity of Ukraine's MP and a candidate for Ukraine's presidential post, publicly called for active actions aimed at a violent overthrow and change of the constitutional order, as well as a change of the limits of Ukraine's territory and a state border by recognizing the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic and Luhansk People's Republic, also on mass media," the PGO recalled.

As reported, Ukraine's Verkhovna Rada permitted a criminal prosecution of Tsariov in June 2014. Then he was an MP from the Party of Regions faction.

Tsariov calls himself the Speaker of the parliament of Novorossia (Union of the so-called DPR and LPR).
