Crimea will not take electricity from Ukraine in case of supply resumption – Aksyonov

Crimea does not intend to cooperate with Ukraine again on matters of power supplies, even if they resume, de facto head of the Republic of Crimea Sergei Aksyonov said.
"We have given up everything Ukrainian a long time ago. They stopped deliveries to the construction materials' market half a year ago, food – three months ago. They stopped water supplies at the very beginning. Electricity was the last thread connecting us with Ukraine. Today we are cut off fully and have no intentions of maintaining these relations again," Kryminform quotes Aksyonov as saying.
Two power transmission line towers were undermined in southern Ukraine at the border, which led to a blackout in Crimea. Now the peninsula's power system operates independently by applying rotating power cuts for the purpose of saving electricity.
On the evening of December 2, Crimea started receiving the first electricity from Russia. Russian President Vladimir Putin participated in the launching of the first line of the power bridge across the Kerch Strait.
In an interview with Ukrainian TV channels on Sunday, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko voiced hope that power supplies to Ukraine would be restored shortly.
