Kyiv to seek int'l tribunal on Boeing despite any resistance - Ukrainian Foreign Ministry

Ukraine will insist on an international tribunal on the Malaysia Airlines Boeing-777 crash over Donbas, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin said.

"Despite any resistance we will tackle - I emphasize - namely tackle the idea of forming an international tribunal or other mechanism. We have other variants as well but we think that a tribunal is definitely the best," Klimkin said at a meeting with Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Chairperson-in-Office, Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic in Kyiv on Friday.

According to Klimkin, active work is currently being carried out on establishing a tribunal charter and a UN Security Council resolution on its establishment, and will continue next week.

It has been reported that Malaysia Airlines Boeing-777 en route from Amsterdam to Kuala-Lumpur crashed in eastern Ukraine on July 17, 2014. It had 298 people on board, all of whom died.

According to the primary version, the plane was shot down by a rocket in the armed conflict zone in Donbas.
