Ukrainian Security Service reports detention of two Islamist women from Russia

The Ukrainian Security Service has found a transfer point in Dnipropetrovsk used by members of the terrorist organization Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) as a place of temporary stay.

"The police detained two female citizens of the Russian Federation in a rented apartment. Security Service officers found out that the women were expelled from the territories of Turkey and Egypt on suspicion of being involved in terrorist activity. The Islamists illegally came to Ukraine from the territory of Russia," the Ukrainian Security Service press center said on Thursday.

According to it, the detainees planned to produce new fake IDs in Ukraine for traveling to Syria across Turkey. One of the Islamists presented to Ukrainian Security Service officers a fake passport issued to a citizen of Uzbekistan and carrying fake stamps attesting travel across the Ukrainian state border, as a proof of her identity.

The women possessed handwritten texts preaching inter-religious fuel and hatred for people of other religions.

A criminal case was opened against the Russian citizen carrying a fake ID on the counts of "the use of fake documents". Her fellow citizen will be deported to the country of permanent residence or a third state and prohibited to visit Ukraine for three years.
