Airplane meant to evacuate Ukrainians from Nepal landed in Delhi – Emergency Service

An Il-76 aircraft of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine with the Ukrainian rescue team in face of State Emergency Situations Service representatives and Foreign Ministry's consuls on board has landed in Indian capital Delhi.

"The team embraces psychologists, specialists of disaster medicine of the rescue service, rescuers that will coordinate evacuation process. Acting Chief of Emergency Situations Service of Ukraine Zorian Shkiriak is also on board," the Emergency Service's spokesman reported.

As reported, the Il-76 airplane meant to evacuate Ukrainian citizens from Nepal, which recently challenged the earthquake, left Kyiv for Delhi in early hours of Thursday. Later on, it will forward to Nepal. There have been delays of the aircraft departure for several hours due to unfavorable weather conditions on its route to Nepal.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has information that 190 citizens of Ukraine remain in Nepal. No connection with 56 of them so far.

Ministry's spokesman Yevhen Perebyinis has said earlier that five citizens of Ukraine were evacuated from Nepal by Polish plane, and another eleven citizens were brought to Moscow by Russian Emergency Ministry's plane.
