Ukraine to be given U.S. army equipment brought for international exercises – ATO spokesman

The military equipment which has been brought by U.S. military personnel for international exercises at Yavoriv range in Lviv region will be given to the Ukrainian military, anti-terrorist operation (ATO) spokesman Andriy Lysenko has said.

"The U.S. military brought modern military equipment with them. The Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive 705 uniform kits, the same number of bullet-proof jackets, helmets, other protective elements, 85 night-observation devices, and over 200 radio systems," he said at a briefing in Kyiv on Tuesday.

Lysenko also spoke about some of the details of the joint Ukraine-U.S. exercise.

"[National Guard] soldiers will undergo artillery training, a tactics reconnaissance course and a course of information operations. In particular, this is cooperation with the local population in the conflict zone and the counteraction of enemy's information aggression. Besides, the program of training also includes the installation of the protective constructions, mine clearance of dangerous objects and a tactical medicine course," he said.

He added that 30 Ukrainian military instructors will participate in these courses to share the experience received from the U.S. military.
