Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has urged European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker to support Ukraine's proposal to deploy peacekeepers in its territory as part of the European security and defense policy.

"Poroshenko has urged the European Commission president to send a peacekeeping contingent to Ukraine as part of the European security and defense policy," the presidential press service said after Poroshenko's telephone conversation with Juncker on Saturday.
