Rada raises maximum age of military conscription to 27
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has passed a law that increases the maximum age for compulsory military service from 25 to 27 years.
A total of 256 MPs passed the relevant law on amendments to legislation regarding the improvement of the procedure of military service and on the social protection of servicemen on Thursday.
Previously, the law stipulated that Ukrainian citizens between 18 and 25 years of age can be subject to military conscription. Now, men aged between 18 and 27 can be conscripted.
