Minsk meeting most likely to be rescheduled from Tuesday for Friday – SBU

The next meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group over the situation in Donbas to be hosted by Minsk, Belarus, is most likely to be rescheduled from Tuesday, December 9, for Friday, December 12, according to Vasyl Vovk, the chief of the main investigation department of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).

"Most probably, the meeting won't take place tomorrow. I hope and there is a strong probability that it may be held on Friday, December 12. I think not only the meeting will take place, it will bring certain results," he told the ICTV Channel on Monday evening.

The self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) insisted earlier that the trilateral Contact Group should meet in Minsk on December 12, instead of December 9, a date proposed by the Kyiv authorities.

"The Ukrainian side plans to hold talks in Minsk on December 9, but our representatives will not go there on Tuesday. We insist on holding such a meeting on December 12. This date has already been agreed with our neighbors from the DPR [the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic]," a LPR spokesman told Interfax.
