EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini has urged Russia to participate constructively in the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict.

She said at an OSCE Ministerial Council meeting in Basel on Thursday that the crisis could not be resolved without the constructive participation of Russia.

In addition, the EU urges to withdraw from the east of Ukraine any illegal or foreign armed forces, mercenaries and military equipment, Mogherini added.
