Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk has said that the situation with payment for consumed natural gas in the eastern regions worsened and resulted in UAH 1 billion rise in debt in 2014.

"There is a constant tendency of worsening of the payment state for natural gas. No money – no gas," the premier said after the phone-in meeting with the heads of regional state administrations.

He urged to settle issues with payments for the energy resources.

"The biggest gas debtor is Donetsk region. Donetsk region owns nearly UAH 4 billion to Naftogaz," the head of the government said adding that Luhansk region also owes UAH 1.2 billion.

"Only in 2014 additional volume of debts in these two regions grew over UAH 1 billion," the premier said.

Yatseniuk also said that the government allocated UAH 7 billion to compensate tariff differences.
