Barricade outside Lviv regional administration dismantled
Utility workers dismantled the barricade outside the building housing Lviv Regional State Administration and Lviv Regional Council last night.
By now road traffic has resumed on the street beside the Regional State Administration where the barricade was erected, an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent said.
Head of the Regional State Administration Oleh Salo arrived in his car to the building at around 8 a.m. and walked towards his office.
Outside the building there are about ten police officers and a State Auto Inspection patrol vehicle.
The offices of senior officials and staff of the Lviv Regional State Administration on the second floor of building number 18 on Vinnychenko Street were vacated by protestors on February 16.
On January 23, 2014, local residents occupied the offices of the regional state administration, thus leaving the administration staff with no access to their workplace for a few days.
The law granting amnesty to all Ukrainian rioters will take effect on February 17, 2014, the Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office said a day earlier.
The condition for the enactment of this law was the evacuation of the administrative buildings occupied earlier, including regional state administrations, local self-governments, Kyiv City Administration and the unblocking of Hrushevskoho Street in Kyiv.
These conditions were met by Sunday night, the Prosecutor General's Office said.
