The Foreign Ministry of Ukraine is checking media reports that two Ukrainians have been detained in the UK on suspicion of being involved in causing recent explosions near mosques in two English towns.

"The Foreign Affairs Ministry of Ukraine is checking the reports about the alleged involvement of immigrants from Ukraine in the explosions near mosques in the UK," Director of the Ministry's Information Policy Department Yevhen Perebyinis told Interfax-Ukraine.

A number of Western media reported that two Ukrainian men were arrested on suspicion of organizing the explosions near mosques in the towns of Walsall and Tipton in England. The blast in Walsall took place on June 21 near the Aisha Mosque, while another explosion happened outside the Kanzul Iman Masjid mosque on July 12. No one was hurt in the blasts.
