Tymoshenko doesn't know if she wants to participate in UESU case hearing, says prison service

The State Penitentiary service of Ukraine still has not received a final answer from former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko regarding her participation in the hearing of the criminal case on the activities of the United Energy Systems of Ukraine (UESU) Corporation on April 23.

Moreover, the convict says that the criminal case has been closed.

"When the penitentiary service officials asked Tymoshenko about her position regarding her participation in the sitting of Kharkiv's Kyivsky [District] Court on April 23, she said that the criminal case, the hearing of which is scheduled for tomorrow, has been closed and cannot be considered. As this information is untrustworthy and the hearing of the case will be held, as the UESU case has not been closed, and the convict read the summon to the court, which she signed, the employees of the Kachanivska colony again asked Tymoshenko a question regarding her transportation to the courtroom," the prison service said.

The prison service again proposed the ex-premier to participate in the court hearing via a video linkup, which is possible according to the current Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. However, the convict has not given a clear answer to the proposal as of 1445, the press service said.

"Such behavior of Tymoshenko gives reason to say that she does not know what she wants," the prison service said.
