Pukach's defense team to appeal against Pechersky District Court's verdict
The defense team of former chief of the external surveillance department of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry, Oleksiy Pukach, will appeal against
the decision of Kyiv's Pechersky District Court to find him guilty of the murder of journalist Georgy Gongadze and sentence him to life in prison.
According to an Interfax-Ukraine reporter, Pukach's defense lawyer, Hryhoriy Demydenko, said this following the announcement of the verdict by the court on Tuesday.
Asked by journalists to comment on the verdict, Pukach said: "Ask [Second Ukrainian President Leonid] Kuchma and [former Verkhovna Rada Chairman Volodymyr] Lytvyn – they will tell you everything."
"I've told everything during the investigation and trial… Ask Lytvyn and Kuchma about the motive and intent," he said.
