The U.S. Department of State has confirmed that U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton sent another letter to support former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, the press service of the Batkivschyna Party has reported, citing an article published by the Voice of America (VOA).

The letter was passed through U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine John Tefft, according to the statement.

The article also includes a commentary by well-known Ukrainian lawyer Valentyna Telychenko who represented Tymoshenko's interests in the European Court of Human Rights on the latest statements of the Prosecutor General's Office regarding the murder of MP Yevhen Scherban.

"Even despite the fact that the message about the suspicion is still not a final document, following the pre-trial investigation it is still highly controversial. Obviously, it's currently impossible to find evidence of Tymoshenko's involvement in ordering the killing of Scherban. They could not be found in 2001, and because of this she was not called to account in this case, and now they cannot find it, because it doesn't exist," Telychenko said.

Earlier, Batkivschyna published excerpts from Clinton's letter to Tymoshenko, in which she expressed concern about the situation with the former Ukrainian prime minister.

Later, media reported that the U.S. Department of State said it knew nothing about Clinton's letter to Tymoshenko.
