Khreschatyk Street in Kyiv to be blocked from December 30 to January 8

Khreschatyk Street in Kyiv will be blocked for running of all modes of transport from Instytutska Street to Bohdana Khmelnytskoho Street during the New Year holidays from December 30 to January 8.

As the press service of Kyiv City State Administration reported on Tuesday, if necessary the traffic could be tied up even to Besarabska Square.

The drivers will have to go around Sofiyska Street: from Volodymyrska Street to Independence Square, and Zhytomyrska Street: from Independence Square to Volodymyrsky Lane. On these streets the traffic will be shut down from 1800 on December 31 to 0630 on January 1 for all modes of transport, except of the public one.

Moreover, from December 31 at 1600 and from 1100 on January 7, the drivers will not be able to park car in the downtown of Kyiv, in particular at: Sofiyska Street (from Volodymyrska Street to Independence Square); Mala Zhytomyrska (from Independence Square to Volodymyrsky Lane); Esplanadna Street; Rohnidynska Street (from Shota Rustaveli to Esplanadna Street); Shota Rustaveli (from Rohnidynska Street to Baseina Street).

On the New Year's night the Kyiv subway will work 3 hours and thirty minutes longer, public transport will work until 0430, and some taxi buses will course even longer.
