The opposition was deliberately preparing provocations at polling stations, Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has said.

"The opposition was deliberately preparing all of these provocations, and it's sad that sometimes people yielded to such provocations and participated in these events at polling stations, and, in fact, blocked the work of precinct election commissions," he wrote on his page on Facebook, while communicating with users on Friday.

He said he was confident that general repeat parliamentary elections would not be held.

Parliamentary elections in Ukraine were held on October 28 under a mixed system, with 225 MPs elected by party lists and a further 225 in single-seat election districts. The official election results should be announced by November 12. However, the question of holding repeat elections in five disputed single-seat constituencies is still being resolved.
