Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk once again did not sign a business trip order for the leader of the European Solidarity faction Petro Poroshenko to participate in the Munich Security Conference due to an alleged threat to his life abroad.

"For some reason, Head of the Main Intelligence Agency Kyrylo Budanov briefed Chairman of Parliament Ruslan Stefanchuk that immediately after crossing the Ukraine-Poland border, and especially in Munich, I, as the fifth president and leader of the opposition, was in mortal danger. And they were not able to protect me, as a protected person, neither the state security department, nor the entire security system of Germany. And the only way to save Poroshenko is not to let him out," Poroshenko said at a briefing after a meeting with Stefanchuk on Wednesday.

According to Poroshenko, within the Munich Security Conference, he had planned meetings with the leadership of the European Union, with the presidents and heads of government of the member countries of the European Union.

"Immediately after the Munich Security Conference, as part of the IDU delegation – this is the International Democratic Union, where I was elected an honorary member of the supervisory board, representing the global democratic community, we had to go to Israel... This is an invitation to the Munich Security Conference, and this is an invitation to Knesset and a confirmed meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu," Poroshenko said, showing the invitations.

He recalled that last year the leadership of the parliament also did not sign for him business trips abroad, disrupting his visits to the United States and Poland.

As reported, this year the leadership of the Verkhovna Rada denied Poroshenko a trip to a meeting of the Ukraine-NATO interparliamentary council in Brussels.
