Penitentiary service says it doesn't keep video record in Tymoshenko's ward

No one keeps a video record of the ward of convicted former Ukrainian Premier Yulia Tymoshenko at Central Clinical Hospital No. 5 in Kharkiv, where the ex-premier is undergoing treatment, the State Penitentiary Service of Ukraine has said on Friday.

Its statement reads that "the State Penitentiary Service keeps video records in prisons in accordance with the Ukrainian legislation and international standards of work of the penitentiary system."

The penitentiary service said that an official investigation into the posting on the Internet of a video with a women resembling Tymoshenko was launched on October 16 and is under way.

Earlier, a video from a hospital ward with a woman wearing high-heeled shoes and doing exercises was posted on the Internet.

Later on, Tymoshenko's defense lawyer, Serhiy Vlasenko, stated that he was very indignant with the video.

"On her behalf, I would like to express very deep indignation with the immoral video, which was posted online several days ago. I would like to add that by posting such a video the authorities crossed all acceptable moral lines. From the viewpoint of the legislation, it is an obvious crime," Vlasenko said.
