IT company MODUS X separates from DTEK to gain competitiveness in market, new development prospects – CEO

IT company MODUS X was formed at the end of 2022, separating from the structure of the DTEK Energy holding after implementing the three-year Modus digital transformation program of the DTEK group of companies, in order to gain competitiveness in the market, including outside Ukraine, and gain new prospects, said the company's CEO Dmytro Osyka.

"We really work as an IT company, and our competitiveness in the foreign market is important to us, because for DTEK's internal client it is also confirmation of our professionalism, our capabilities. Therefore, we developed a strategy, approved it in the supervisory board and created MODUS X," Osyka said in an exclusive interview with Interfax-Ukraine.

He noted that DTEK owns MODUS X, but now it works not only with group companies, but focuses on clients not related to it, both in the Ukrainian market and abroad.

Osyka also emphasized that the separation provides an opportunity to share existing developments and experience with other clients, to bring innovative projects that a company with DTEK would never do, but can implement in the foreign market. In addition, according to him, this is also additional income.

"And as a result, our staff is constantly improving and developing, and we are acquiring additional expertise. And, ultimately, this is an opportunity to ensure such stability that allows us to work with external customers in the current difficult conditions," said the CEO of MODUS X, who has been responsible for DTEK's digital transformation program since 2019.

According to him, MODUS X, which specializes in the implementation of various information systems, cybersecurity, data management infrastructure, and business applications, employs almost 700 people, including IT specialists and technical specialists engaged in business digitalization and ensuring its cybersecurity.

In 2024, MODUS X grew by 25%, and according to DOU (the professional community of developers of Ukraine), it entered the top three Ukrainian IT companies in terms of growth rates and the top ten in terms of the number of vacancies posted on this resource.

According to the AIN agency (the Ukrainian online publication about IT business, startups, technologies, and entrepreneurship), it entered the top 15 largest IT companies in Ukraine by revenue according to the results of the third quarter of 2024 (the latest data). According to BRDO (the independent analytical center in the field of economic regulation), MODUS X entered the top 30 IT companies of Ukraine by revenue in 2023 and the top ten IT companies by the amount of taxes paid.
