Ukraine seeking ways to protect 20 special facilities from Russian attacks – Zelenskyy
Ukraine is looking for ways to protect 20 more special facilities from Russian attacks as there are not enough air defense systems for the necessary protection due to dense missile strikes, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said on Monday.
"We talked with Olaf [German Chancellor Olaf Scholz] about strengthening air defense. [...] And I gave one example. I won't tell it to you publicly, because I don't want Russia to understand what I'm talking about. But I gave an example of how we are now looking to protect two dozen more special facilities. And we don't have enough, because of so dense missile strikes, we just don't have enough air defense systems," the Ukrainian head of state said at a joint press conference with Scholz in Kyiv.
Zelenskyy also thanked Germany for its help in strengthening Ukrainian skies, but noted that the air defense systems provided were not enough.
"The question is not about Germany. It is a matter of partners in principle. There are partners who keep air defense systems," he said.
