Defense Ministry notes importance of speeding up, optimizing logistics in Czech ammo initiative

The Czech initiative on the supply of artillery munitions plays an important role for the needs of the Ukrainian defense forces and could be even more effective, particularly if delivery schedules were observed, Deputy Defense Minister of Ukraine for European Integration Serhiy Boyev said.

The ministry's press service said on Tuesday that the official has raised the issue of speed of deliveries and logistics during the implementation of the Czech initiative at a meeting with the Czech delegation led by National Security Advisor of the Czech Republic Tomáš Pojar.

The meeting was also attended by Czech Governmental Envoy for the Reconstruction of Ukraine Tomáš Kopečný and Czech Ambassador to Ukraine Radek Pech.

"We are grateful to the Czech initiative for the ability to bring together partners around it in hard times. However, the speed of delivery of ammunition and logistics are still a topical issue – we need to find more effective ways," Boyev was cited by the press service.

The deputy minister thanked the Czech Republic for its active participation in the coalitions for capacities, including the one on aviation, integrated air and missiles defense, drones, artillery, armored vehicles and maneuverability, as well as mine action.

The parties also discussed a range of issues that need to be streamlined, including the training of Ukrainian military under the EU Military Assistance Mission in support of Ukraine (EUMAM Ukraine), material and technical assistance, and prospects of supporting defense industry projects.
