More than six dozen foreign diplomatic missions of Ukraine received anonymous letters on Monday, October 14, about bomb threats in their buildings; this number continues to grow, the press service of the Foreign Ministry said.

The department said that such letters were received by structural units of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry. Thus, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sybiha instructed to tighten security measures in Ukrainian diplomatic missions.

The Foreign Ministry said diplomats are in close contact with law enforcement and authorities of the host countries to conduct security checks where necessary.

"In isolated cases, foreign diplomatic missions had to briefly suspend consular services to citizens, which were restored immediately after the completion of the checks. We apologize to the citizens of Ukraine for the inconvenience. 'Your safety is our priority," the MFA said.

The department also said the massive wave of anonymous bomb threats did not affect the activities of the diplomatic system of Ukraine and foreign diplomatic institutions. Work continues as usual, all assigned tasks continue to be carried out in full.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine is in contact with law enforcement and intelligence agencies of Ukraine, foreign partners, and is working to clarify the circumstances and goals of the coordinated wave of anonymous threats and its organizers.
