O. Zelenska: Justice for Ukraine to be condemnation of Russian crimes at global level
Justice for Ukraine will be not only the return of people and occupied territories, but also a fair condemnation of the Russian crimes at the global level, First Lady Olena Zelenska said in an interview with Lord Michael Ashcroft for the British media platform Daily Mail and The Mail on Sunday.
In the interview, Zelenska also commented on proposals to cede Ukraine's territories for the sake of peace, adding that "evil cannot be appeased."
"In many myths around the world, there is a plot about a dragon to whom a girl is regularly sacrificed to appease the monster. But the truth is, evil cannot be appeased. The same goes for the aggressor state. If you give the attacker time, they will use it to strengthen themselves, and in 5-8-10 years, it will be our children who have to resist them. Only those who have lost no one can propose such a 'truce.' Meanwhile, Russia is coming up with new ways to kill us," the First Lady stated.
Zelenska also reminded about the upcoming Fourth Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen, which will take place on September 12 in Kyiv and will focus on children's safety. Participants will seek solutions to protect children from modern threats, particularly during armed conflicts.
"The suffering of children is heartbreaking. We, the adults of the world, owe them safety. Making their childhood better is a normal desire for any normal person," emphasized Olena Zelenska.
The First Lady thanked Lord Michael Ashcroft and the UK for their support, which was very inspiring and helpful.
