Over 197,000 people evacuated from frontline areas of Donetsk region since Aug 2022
More than 197,000 people have been evacuated from the frontline areas of Donetsk region as part of mandatory evacuation since August 2022, the Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine reported.
"Mandatory evacuation has been ongoing since August 2022. During this time, more than 197,000 people have been evacuated from the frontline areas. Among them – more than 24,000 children and about 7,400 people with disabilities," the ministry said in a statement.
It is noted that departures are carried out by daily trains from Pokrovsk to Dnipro, Lviv, and also to Rivne region.
According to the report, special attention is paid to the mandatory evacuation of children together with their parents or legal representatives. In particular, it currently covers 18 settlements, and since the start of these activities on April 7, 2023, a total of 3,909 children have been evacuated.
