Due to Russia's massive shelling, situation with energy supply in Kharkiv, Sumy regions worsens

In Kharkiv region, due to damage to regional power company's equipment during shelling by Russian occupiers on Thursday evening and at night, one of the facilities of NPC Ukrenergo and several regional power company's facilities were de-energized, as a result of which more than 16,500 consumers were without power supply, the system operator reported .

On its Telegram channel on Friday, it noted that emergency restoration work was continuing.

The Ministry of Energy, in a message on the Telegram channel on the situation in Kharkiv region, noted that as a result of shelling, 110 kV overhead lines were turned off, which led to the shutdown of the line and substation of Kharkivoblenergo and Ukrzaliznytsia. As a result, household consumers and local industry were cut off. Also, as a result of the hostilities, power equipment caught fire in one of the districts of the region, as a result of which household consumers in three settlements were left without electricity.

In total, about 33,000 consumers in the region are without power.

Massive artillery shelling of the border areas of Sumy region led to the simultaneous cut-off of more than 40,000 consumers, and there was damage to the equipment of regional power companies. In the morning, all consumers are powered using backup circuits, Ukrenergo notes.

The Ministry of Energy added that the site of JSC Sumyoblenergo was shelled, fortunately, there were no casualties.

In total, due to hostilities and other reasons, 358 settlements remain without electricity in the morning.

According to the company, due to bad weather, one settlement in Chernihiv region was cut off in the morning. The Ministry of Energy indicates that in Khmelnytsky region, due to bad weather, 16 settlements were without power - a total of 2,200 consumers.

For technical reasons, there are outages in Kyiv, Poltava, and Sumy regions.
