The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the allocation of UAH 2 billion by the State Agency for Restoration and Infrastructure Development for the modernization, construction, and maintenance of the checkpoints on the state border, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal has said.

"Today we are adopting a resolution that will allow the State Agency for Restoration to allocate UAH 2 billion for the modernization, construction, and maintenance of the checkpoints on the state border," he said at a government meeting on Friday.

According to the prime minister, this is part of the government's priority European Border reform, which envisages that citizens and businesses will be able to cross borders with European countries quickly, conveniently and without bureaucratic obstacles.

"In addition, we are approving a resolution that will allow us to allocate a grant in the amount of UAH 1.8 billion to restore critical logistics infrastructure and road communications. This is a grant from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development within the framework of the RELINC project," Shmyhal said.
