State joint-stock company Chornomornaftogaz (Simferopol, Crimea) on November 29 launched well six on the BK-1 platform of the Arkhanhelske gas field in the northwestern part of the Black Sea shelf, the company's press service has said.

The press service said that the daily production at the well grew to 280,000 cubic meters of natural gas.

"The Tavryda drilling rig will be moved to a new site for drilling on the BK-1 platform and will start drilling the next well, [well] seven, which is planned for launch in late December," reads the report.

Chornomornaftogaz is planning to drill ten wells, bringing daily extraction on the BK-1 platform to 500,000 cubic meters of natural gas.

Gas produced on the BK-1 platform is supplied through a two-kilometer underwater gas pipeline to the TsTP-7 central technological platform of the Arkhanhelske field and further supplied to the gas transportation system of Crimea.

The BK-1 platform of the Arkhanhelske field is located 70 kilometers from the coast, where the sea depth reaches 51 meters.

Chornomornaftogaz is developing the Ukrainian shelves of the Black and Azov seas. The company extracts hydrocarbons in Crimea, exploits the Hlibovske underground gas storage facility in the peninsula and operates its pipelines. National joint-stock company Naftogaz Ukrainy controls a 100% stake in the company.
