Ukrenergo receives many offers from European colleagues to help in restoring destroyed infrastructure
NPC Ukrenergo has received many requests from European colleagues for humanitarian assistance to restore the destroyed infrastructure, head of the company's board Volodymyr Kudrytsky said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.
"We receive many requests from our European counterparts, transmission system operators, about what equipment and materials we may need to restore the lines now. And they are ready to provide humanitarian assistance for this purpose," he said.
According to him, since the beginning of the Russian military aggression, 40 repair teams of Ukrenergo have restored equipment at seven substations and eleven high-voltage power lines, thanks to which it was possible to restore electricity to about two million consumers.
"To make it clear how much work our repair teams have to deal with - the average number of damages on a 100 km high-voltage line sometimes amounts to 50 breaks or damages. Often our personnel could not inspect the infrastructure damage site before repairs, it was difficult to deliver the necessary equipment due to the war-torn landscape, not to mention the high risk to the lives of our employees," Kudrytsky said.
In addition, according to the head of the NPC, at present, thanks to the heroism of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in liberated Kyiv region, Chernihiv and Sumy regions, the company's specialists have been able to inspect the damaged infrastructure, and have already begun to restore at least three large high-voltage mains.
Ukrenergo operates trunk and interstate power lines, as well as centralized dispatching of the country's unified energy system. Corporate rights of NPC belong to the state represented by the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.
